Tall Boneset (Eupatorium altissimum)
Eupatorium altissimum is the scientific name for the plant species more commonly called Tall Boneset which is a perennial plant of the Asteraceae family with a native range including much of the eastern and central United States and Canada.
Found in limestone-based soils of open woods, prairies, fields with white flowers that bloom in the late summer and fall.
Tall Boneset is a pollinator magnet when in bloom attracting various pollinators such as Yellow-Faced Bees (Hylaeus spp), Mining Bees (Andrena spp), Small Sweat Bees (Lasioglossum spp), Bumble Bees (Bombus spp), and Green Sweat Bees (Agapostemon spp).
Wasps: Four Banded Sand Wasps (Bicyrtes quadrifasciatus), Northern Paper Wasps (Polistes fuscatus), Bald-faced Hornets (Dolichovespula maculata), Beewolf Wasps (Philanthus spp), Beetle Wasps (Cerceris spp), Potter Wasps (Eugenes spp), Grass-carrying Wasps (Isodontia spp), Thynnid Wasps (Myzinum spp), Cuckoo Wasps (Hedychrum spp) and Thread-waisted Wasps (Eremnophila spp).
Flies: Tachinid Flies (Gymnoclytia spp and Archytas spp), Thick-headed Flies (Physocephala spp) and Bee Flies (Villa spp)
Not to mention plethora of Moths and Butterflies!
Tall Boneset is a larval host for the Three-lined Flower Moth (Schinia trifascia), Clymene Moth (Haploa clymene) and Boneset Borer Moth (Carmenta pyralidiformis)
The larvae are often found feeding on Brickellia, Eupatorium and Liatris species such as: False Boneset (Brickellia eupatorioides)β,Boneset (Eupatorium perfoliatum),Meadow Blazing Star (Liatris ligulistylis), Prairie Blazing Star (Liatris pycnostachya), Dotted Blazing Star (Liatris punctata),Rough Blazing Star (Liatris aspera) and Marsh (Dense) Blazing Star (Liatris spicata).

Small seed species will contain greater than 20-25 seed
Large seed species will contain greater than 10-15 seed
All packets are individually marked at the bottom of the front label with expected count, however most if not all packets will have many more than the minimum count by default.
It is our mission to spread the wealth of native plant and pollinator ecological sustainability and educate back yard gardeners as well as corporate and government entities in how to germinate, grow, and benefit from native synergies.
